31-key resort upgraded as part of company’s portfolio premiumisation strategy
Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited (MHRIL) has reopened Club Mahindra Royal Demazong in Gangtokfollowing a refurbishment, as the company steps up investments to upgrade and premiumise its resort portfolio.
The 31-key property has been reimagined with refreshed interiors, enhanced amenities and design elements drawing from Sikkim’s cultural heritage. The renovation combines contemporary guest facilities with local craftsmanship.
The reopening forms part of MHRIL’s wider portfolio enhancement programme, under which nearly 400 keys are currently undergoing upgrades across its resort network.
The company is focusing on strengthening its presence in high-potential leisure destinations while upgrading existing properties to enhance the overall member experience.
The Gangtok resort’s refurbishment incorporates locally inspired design elements while retaining a contemporary hospitality offering. The property is expected to cater to growing leisure demand for Sikkim, with Gangtok serving as a key base for travellers exploring the region.
MHRIL’s ongoing refurbishment programme reflects a broader focus among hospitality companies on upgrading existing inventory, improving product quality and increasing the value of established resort assets in established and emerging leisure markets.
