PayPal has announced a partnership with hotel payment provider Selfbook, introducing hotel booking capabilities directly within its app. This integration allows users to search, book, and pay for hotel stays seamlessly, enhancing convenience and user experience.
Accessible through the app’s Offers section, users can filter searches by travel dates and guest numbers. Participating hotels utilize Selfbook’s payment suite, although it’s unclear if the entire Selfbook catalog is available. PayPal customers can also benefit from exclusive discounts and the option to use Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) for select properties.
The move aligns with PayPal’s strategy to expand offerings within its ecosystem. The company noted an 84% increase in online travel payments using its products, reflecting strong demand for integrated travel solutions. Additionally, Selfbook will incorporate PayPal’s enterprise payment suite to manage credit card transactions for partner hotels, extending their collaboration beyond the PayPal app.
Selfbook CEO Khalid Meniri highlighted the benefits of the integration, stating, “This partnership eliminates the fragmented travel booking process by offering a single, seamless flow. Travelers gain convenience, while hotels enjoy direct guest interactions, better margins, and improved control over their brand.”
The partnership also includes Selfbook’s integration with AI-powered platforms like Perplexity, further solidifying PayPal’s presence in the travel payment landscape.
