The launch expands its accommodation offering beyond hotels, with rewards and booking assistance aimed at travellers seeking alternative stays.
Scapia has launched Villas & Homes on its travel app, adding more than 2 lakh villas, homestays, apartments and cottages across India and international destinations to its accommodation portfolio.
The Bengaluru-based travel fintech platform is targeting demand for alternative stays among families, groups and younger travellers seeking greater space, privacy and flexibility.
The new offering includes Scapia Assist, which provides personalised support with property selection, amenities and host coordination, and the Scapia Promise, under which the company says it will work with property owners to resolve booking-related issues. Eligible cases may receive compensation of up to 150% of the booking value, subject to terms and conditions.
According to Scapia, its booking data indicates that the share of leisure-destination searches is nearly 50% higher for villas and homes than for hotels. The average length of stay is around 20% higher, while weekend bookings account for a larger share of reservations.
Goa, Udaipur, Ooty, Coorg, Puducherry and Munnar are among the most-searched domestic destinations on the platform. International destinations include Dubai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Krabi, Phu Quoc and Langkawi.
Anil Goteti, Founder and CEO, Scapia, said travellers increasingly want accommodation that offers more space, amenities suited to their needs and flexibility, creating opportunities for the alternative-stay segment.
Rathinamurthy R, Head of Travel, Scapia, said demand for villas and homestays was growing across domestic and international leisure destinations.
Eligible Scapia co-branded credit cardholders can earn 20% back as Scapia Coins on Villas & Homes bookings and redeem accumulated coins towards eligible stays.
The launch expands Scapia’s Stays offering beyond hotels as the company continues to build its travel booking and payments platform.
