Sterling Holiday Resorts has strengthened its presence in the Himalayas with the launch of Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala, a contemporary mountain retreat overlooking the Kangra Valley and the Dhauladhar ranges. The new property marks Sterling’s sixth resort in Himachal Pradesh, reinforcing the brand’s growing leisure portfolio in North India.
Positioned as a celebration-led retreat, Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala combines scenic mountain living with a vibrant, food-and-beverage-driven social experience. Perched above the valley, the resort offers an inviting setting for family holidays, intimate celebrations, and group getaways.
The property features thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, each with a private sit-out offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. Shared spaces, including a rooftop infinity swimming pool, are designed to encourage relaxation and connection against the backdrop of the Himalayas.
Dining forms a central part of the guest experience. Mezban, the all-day dining restaurant, presents a menu featuring Indian classics, Himachali-inspired dishes, and global favourites. Ignis, the rooftop bar, offers a setting for sunset gatherings and evening socials with panoramic mountain views. The resort also includes Summit, a flexible event venue suitable for meetings, workshops, and small celebrations.
Commenting on the launch, Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said, “Sterling Nirmaya Dharamshala is a strategic addition to our Himachal Pradesh portfolio, enabling us to create immersive, multi-destination journeys across the state. Dharamshala plays a key role in connecting our presence in the region, allowing us to curate experiences that blend culture, spirituality, leisure, and outdoor exploration, delivered with the consistency of the Sterling brand.”
Located a short distance from McLeod Ganj, the resort provides convenient access to key attractions including monasteries, local markets, and outdoor experiences such as the Triund trek, Bhagsu Waterfall, and day excursions to Bir–Billing, one of the world’s leading paragliding destinations.
Sharing her perspective on the collaboration, Nitasha Jamwal, Managing Director, Nirmaya, said, “Our vision for Dharamshala was to create a retreat that appeals to a wide spectrum of travellers while offering refined hospitality in the Himalayas. Partnering with Sterling was a natural choice, given their deep understanding of India’s leisure travel landscape and their ability to combine local character with national scale. Together, we aim to present Dharamshala not just as a destination, but as an experience of calm and renewal.”
With this addition, Sterling Holiday Resorts continues to expand its network of curated leisure destinations, enabling travellers to explore India through connected journeys while maintaining consistent service and comfort standards.
