‘The World Is Carried Within’ features 18 essays drawing parallels between nature, organisations and working life
Manoj Mathew, Senior Vice President – Operations, Tamara Leisure Experiences, has launched his latest book, The World Is Carried Within – Eighteen Essays on the Natural World and the Working Life, bringing together reflections on nature, human behaviour, leadership and organisational life.
The book was launched on September 3 at the Verandah Boutique Lounge at Tamara Leisure Experiences’ headquarters in Bengaluru. S.D. Shibulal, Chairman, Tamara Leisure Experiences and Co-Founder, Infosys, inaugurated the book and presented the first copy to Shruti Shibulal.
The book is Volume I of The Third Eye Series and comprises 18 essays inspired by wildlife photographs captured by Mathew across destinations including Coorg, Nagarahole, Gokarna and Bentota in Sri Lanka.
The essays use observations from the natural world to explore themes including human behaviour, organisational dynamics, leadership and working life. The book is structured across four sections—The Forest, The Organisation, The Shore and The Opening.
The launch also featured an in-conversation session between Mathew and Ian Faria, Mind Coach, Corporate Trainer and Leadership Consultant. Architect Mahesh Iyer, Principal & Founder, Iyer & Mahesh Architects, and Dr Tapas Mukherjee, former Head of the Department of English, Government College, Bori, also addressed the gathering.
Mathew brings more than four decades of hospitality experience across India, Zambia and Sri Lanka, including 33 years with the Taj Group. He currently oversees operations at Tamara Leisure Experiences.
Speaking about the book, Mathew said the essays emerged from observations captured through his photography, with the natural world becoming a lens through which he examined people, organisations and working life.
