Uttar Pradesh’s Hospitality Sector Thrives Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s Vision: UP Government

Uttar Pradesh is experiencing a significant boom in its hospitality sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, driven by the state’s flourishing tourism industry, according to an official press release.

“With a surge in tourist arrivals, the state is becoming one of the most benefited regions in India, creating consistent employment growth in hospitality and related sectors,” it stated.

A report by Global Hiring Indeed highlighted a 50% rise in tourism and hospitality job vacancies in 2023, with an additional 24% growth expected in the coming years. Cities like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Braj, and Jewar are at the forefront of this growth.

The construction of the Ram Temple has transformed Ayodhya into a hotspot for the hospitality industry. Over two dozen projects, including Taj Hotels, have received approval, and local establishments are upgrading to meet increasing demand.

Jewar, home to Asia’s largest international airport, is quickly becoming a preferred destination for hospitality investments, further enhancing the sector’s growth.

CM Adityanath envisions turning tourism into a community-driven industry. Initiatives like leveraging Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Makar Sankranti celebrations, and the Khichdi Mela at Gorakhnath Temple aim to boost tourism and provide unique experiences to visitors.

To attract more investors, the government is considering additional concessions for hotel construction in cities like Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Relaxations in land-use norms and promotion of homestay initiatives are already underway.

The rise in tourism is also driving growth in sectors like aviation, railways, logistics, and local businesses. Increased demand for regional products is boosting the visibility of local arts and crafts, strengthening the One District, One Product (ODOP) scheme and transforming it into a global brand.

The booming hospitality sector is a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s strategic efforts in tourism, employment, and economic development, creating a robust foundation for sustained growth in the years to come.
