In a landmark achievement that cements India’s place on the world whisky map, Indrihas set a historic record by crossing 2.04 million bottles (1,70,000 9L cases) in sales during 2024, making it India’s largest-selling single malt and the fastest-growing Indian single malt globally for the second consecutive year.
Of this, 1,24,000 cases were sold in India and 46,000 cases were exported, underscoring Indri’s rise as the first Indian malt brand poised to compete head-to-head with global heavyweights.
The International Wine & Spirits Record (IWSR), the world’s most trusted authority on alcohol consumption trends, has officially named Indri the No. 1 Malt Whisky in India, ahead of both domestic and international rivals by a wide margin.
“For us, it has always been about liquid quality and consumer delight. We wanted to prove that India, too, can craft world-class spirits that resonate globally. Crossing the 2 million-bottle milestone is not just a number—it’s proof that our single malt stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best. As Indians, this achievement fills us with pride,” said Praveen Malviya, CEO (IMFL), Piccadily Agro Industries Limited.
Indri’s portfolio—featuring the award-winning Indri-Trini (three-wood matured), Indri-Dru (cask strength), the much sought-after Indri Diwali Collector’s Editions, and the ultra-premium Indri Founder’s Reserve 11YO—has consistently won top global honours, including “Best in the World” titles at prestigious spirits competitions.
Its success is driven by a distinctive flavour profile shaped by Indian barley and terroir, combined with an unwavering commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.
With quality at its core and global recognition growing, Indri is now firmly on course to break into the world’s Top 5 single malt brands in the coming years.
