Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have expanded their strategic partnership with the signing of three major hospitality projects across Nepal and India. The agreement includes the introduction of The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and The Westin Kathmandu, alongside the signing of JW Marriott Siliguri in eastern India.
Expected to open by 2031, the two Kathmandu properties will collectively add approximately 300 keys to Marriott’s Nepal portfolio, marking the debut of The Ritz-Carlton brand in the country and strengthening Marriott’s luxury and premium presence in the market. The latest signings underscore the partners’ continued focus on expanding high-end hospitality offerings across South Asia while tapping into growing demand for luxury travel and destination-led experiences.
The projects in Nepal will be developed through a partnership between CG Hospitality Global, the hospitality arm of Chaudhary Group, and leading Nepali business houses including IEG Group, IJ Group and Sharma & Company. The agreements were signed in the presence of senior leaders from both organisations, including David Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Marriott International; Binod Chaudhary, Chairman of CG Corp Global; Rahul Chaudhary, CEO and Managing Director of CG Hospitality Global; and Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International.
The signings mark another milestone in the collaboration between Marriott and CG Hospitality, which already includes successful developments such as Kathmandu Marriott Hotel and several Marriott-branded properties across South Asia.
The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, marking the luxury brand’s debut in Nepal, will be located in Thamel and feature 150 rooms and suites, five dining venues, a spa, outdoor pool and more than 1,100 square metres of meeting and event space. The Westin Kathmandu, located near Tribhuvan International Airport, will offer 150 rooms and suites, wellness-focused amenities, three dining outlets, a rooftop swimming pool and over 700 square metres of event facilities.
