The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Bengaluru Chapter will organise an Inclusion • Knowledge • CSR Evening on Monday, January 19, aimed at advancing disability-inclusive employment practices within the food and beverage sector. The initiative will bring together restaurateurs, industry leaders, and social impact advocates to exchange ideas and encourage inclusive workforce models.
The event will be held at The Bier Club, Lavelle Road, starting 5:00 PM onwards, and will feature Alina Alam, Founder of Mitti Café, as the keynote speaker.
A prominent social entrepreneur, Alina Alam is widely recognised for championing disability-inclusive employment through Mitti Café, a professionally run hospitality venture that provides dignified and sustainable livelihoods to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her work has earned national and international acclaim, positioning India as a global reference point for inclusive practices in the F&B industry.
A key segment of the evening will be a knowledge session titled “Integrating Highly Abled Individuals into the F&B Workforce”, offering actionable insights for restaurant owners and operators on building inclusive teams. The session will be complemented by a live service demonstration by Mitti Café’s high-performing team members, highlighting operational excellence and service standards.
The discussion will be facilitated by Mr. Rezwan Razack, Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director of Prestige Group, who is also internationally recognised for his contributions to numismatics and became the first Indian inducted into the International Bank Note Society Hall of Fame in 2025.
Commenting on the initiative, Ananth Narayan, Head – NRAI Bengaluru Chapter, said, “Hospitality is a people-centric industry, and inclusion must translate into meaningful opportunity. Through this initiative, we aim to promote structured and sustainable employment for highly abled individuals across our member restaurants, strengthening the industry with empathy, skill, and long-term social impact.”
The evening will conclude with networking and industry interactions, reinforcing NRAI’s vision of fostering an F&B ecosystem where inclusion is embedded into everyday practice and opportunity is defined by ability.
