The Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) has announced the 8th National Housekeepers Convention, scheduled to be held on 30 May 2026 at Eros Hotel, New Delhi. The one-day convention will bring together housekeeping professionals, hospitality leaders, and industry stakeholders from across India to discuss operational excellence, leadership, and emerging trends in housekeeping and facilities management.
The 2026 edition will be held under the theme “Stewards of Standards”, highlighting the expanding role of housekeeping leaders as custodians of quality, safety, and consistency in hospitality operations. The theme reflects the function’s growing responsibility in upholding brand standards, guest trust, asset protection, and sustainability, while adapting to technology-driven and evolving guest expectations.
The convention title, “Leadership in the Art and Science of Housekeeping,” underscores the dual role of housekeeping that combines service aesthetics and attention to detail with systems, hygiene protocols, technology integration, and performance measurement. The focus on leadership positions housekeeping as a strategic function influencing service delivery and operational efficiency.
The convention is anchored around three core pillars—Care, Create, and Elevate—emphasising responsibility towards people and assets, innovation in processes and tools, and continuous improvement through skill development and higher operational benchmarks.
The announcement follows the successful 7th National Housekeepers Convention, held on 17 May 2025 in Bengaluru, which attracted over 220 delegates, including executive housekeepers, directors of rooms, operations leaders, and hospitality solution providers. The 2025 edition featured sessions on workforce development, operational productivity, sustainable housekeeping practices, and technology adoption.
Key highlights from the 2025 convention included keynote addresses on leadership and talent empowerment, case study presentations from leading hotel chains, solution showcases by suppliers focused on automation and eco-friendly products, and discussions on career pathways for housekeeping professionals.
Building on this momentum, the 2026 convention will focus on emerging trends such as AI-assisted housekeeping workflows, sustainability benchmarks, workforce training frameworks, digital quality assurance systems, and process excellence in housekeeping and facilities operations.
Commenting on the announcement, Ms. Jayashree Nagaraj, Founder President and Chairperson, PHA, said, “Housekeeping has evolved from a back-of-house function into a strategic pillar of hospitality operations. The response to the 2025 convention reinforced the industry’s commitment to raising standards. The 2026 edition will focus on delivering actionable insights aligned with current operational realities.”
Ms. Bharti Singh Kalappa, Founder Member, National Vice President and Vice President – Operations, PHA North Chapter, added that the New Delhi edition would build on the learnings from Bengaluru, with a stronger focus on innovation, sustainability, skills development, and technology-led performance enhancement.
The 8th National Housekeepers Convention is expected to attract over 300 participants, including housekeeping and operations leaders, procurement heads, hospitality educators, and leading suppliers of housekeeping products and solutions.
