Hospitality tech firm OYO has reported a 20% year-on-year increase in summer holiday bookings for Q1 FY26, driven largely by family vacations, group travel, and religious tourism.
Coorg led the growth with a massive 480% spike in bookings, followed by Tirupati (84%), Visakhapatnam (82%), and Kochi (77%). The period between April and June saw a significant rise in travel during extended holiday weekends, including Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Buddha Purnima, and Eid-ul-Adha.
Short-haul leisure spots like Shimla, Manali, Nainital, and Mussoorie remained popular, while offbeat destinations such as Chikmagalur, Pachmarhi, Mount Abu, and Lansdowne also recorded increased interest.
The growth was further supported by OYO Total Holidays, the company’s end-to-end travel services platform, which partnered with airlines, transport operators, restaurants, and certified guides to offer curated experiences.
Varun Jain, COO, OYO, attributed the rise to an expanded premium portfolio of 1,300+ company-serviced hotels and targeted offerings for family travelers. A limited-period complimentary stay initiative across 1,100 properties also boosted repeat visits.
OYO’s summer travel push aligns with government efforts to promote domestic tourism through improved regional connectivity and accessibility under schemes like Swadesh Darshan and UDAN.
