Uttar Pradesh is fast emerging as one of India’s most dynamic tourism destinations, riding a surge in domestic and international travel and backed by large-scale infrastructure and hospitality investments. Home to global icons such as the Taj Mahal, the ghats of Varanasi and the spiritual centres of Ayodhya and Prayagraj, the state is witnessing a tourism boom that is reshaping its economic and urban landscape.
Improved connectivity, upgraded visitor infrastructure and a growing focus on experiential tourism have positioned Uttar Pradesh as a multi-season destination. Recognising this momentum, the Tata Group has announced a major expansion of its hospitality footprint in the state. The group plans to develop 30 hotels across key cities including Agra, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Noida, adding over 1,900 rooms through a mix of luxury and mid-range brands. An additional 30 hotels are planned by 2026, significantly strengthening the state’s accommodation capacity.
A marquee project under consideration is a state-of-the-art signature hotel in Noida, aimed at supporting the city’s growing role as a business and institutional hub. Designed to host large conferences and corporate events, the property is expected to enhance Noida’s standing in the meetings and conventions segment.
Beyond hotels, the state is also investing in cultural and environmental initiatives. The upcoming Museum of Temple Architecture in Ayodhya, slated for phased completion by 2027, will showcase the region’s rich architectural heritage. Parallel efforts to clean and rejuvenate the ghats along the Ganga are focused on improving sustainability and visitor experience.
Together, these developments are expected to generate significant employment, support local enterprises and cement Uttar Pradesh’s position as a leading tourism and hospitality destination in India.
