IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal. Scheduled to open in Q1 2028, the signing marks IHG’s debut in Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province and underscores the group’s continued expansion across high-growth, underpenetrated markets in South Asia.
With a global portfolio of over 1,200 hotels, the Holiday Inn brand is recognised for its warm hospitality, consistent quality, and guest-centric service philosophy. Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will carry forward this legacy, offering dependable comfort and a bright, welcoming stay experience tailored to modern travellers.
Located in the heart of Dhangadhi within a mixed-use development, the hotel will sit approximately 8.5 km from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India–Nepal border. Its strategic positioning will allow it to cater to business travellers, government officials, transit guests, and leisure visitors exploring regional attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake, and Shivpuri Temple.
The hotel will feature 115 guest rooms, four food and beverage outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, pool bar, and specialty restaurant, along with meeting spaces and a ballroom. Leisure amenities will include a fitness centre and swimming pool.
Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said, “Dhangadhi is an emerging hospitality market driven by improving infrastructure, cross-border trade, and rising domestic travel. Holiday Inn Dhangadhi reflects our confidence in the city’s growth potential and will serve both business and leisure demand.”
Dr. Rajendra K.C., Chairman, Club Chaulani Ltd., added, “Partnering with IHG to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Dhangadhi aligns with the city’s evolution as a commercial and tourism gateway in western Nepal. We look forward to delivering internationally benchmarked hospitality backed by IHG’s global expertise.”
The signing represents a key milestone in IHG’s South Asia growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to bringing trusted global brands to emerging destinations.
