New boutique winery devoted exclusively to premium sparkling wine marks milestone with community celebration
Petit Domaine, Sparkling Winery & Estate — a newly established boutique winery dedicated solely to the production of world-class, traditional-method sparkling wine — has officially opened its doors with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its location at 37938 Charles Town Pike, Hillsboro, Virginia 20132.
Translating to “little estate” in French, Petit Domaine is the first winery of its kind in Virginia to focus exclusively on sparkling wine. The estate features an elegant, newly renovated tasting room, thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces, and a refined culinary program developed under the direction of Michelin-starred Chef Eric Ziebold of Kinship and Métier in Washington, D.C. The winery’s limited-production sparkling wines are crafted by Head Winemaker Shai Van Gelder. While Petit Domaine’s estate-grown wines are currently in development, the winery has partnered with a premier cru Champagne house to produce its initial sparkling wine offerings.
“A sparkling winery brings a completely different sense of energy to the wine experience,” said J. Snyder, a Loudoun County native and the founder of Petit Domaine. “While we are specialists in sparkling wine, we also aim to create a destination centered on celebration, hospitality, and an elevated lifestyle experience. Our vision is to add a unique and exciting dimension to Loudoun’s already exceptional wine region.”
The grand opening celebration featured a ceremonial ribbon cutting, remarks from local officials, and an exclusive preview of Petit Domaine’s inaugural sparkling wines alongside seasonally inspired culinary offerings. Attendees also enjoyed guided tours of the winery’s newly renovated tasting room and outdoor hospitality areas.
Chef Eric Ziebold shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “It’s a unique and exciting opportunity to work with a winery that approaches its food program with the same level of intention, craftsmanship, and purpose as it does its sparkling wine.”
