Fairmont Hotels, part of Accor’s global portfolio, has opened its second property in India with the launch of Fairmont Udaipur Palace, a 327-room luxury hotel spread across 18 acres at the foothills of the Aravalli hills. Developed in partnership with Keystone Resorts, the new hotel enters a competitive hospitality market that already includes several heritage-style properties.
Designed as a contemporary interpretation of a Rajput palace, the hotel features three distinct wings — Surya Mahal, Chandra Mahal, and Agni Mahal — that draw inspiration from Mewar’s architectural heritage. Fairmont says the design blends traditional aesthetics with modern comfort to offer an immersive cultural experience.
The hotel includes eight planned dining venues, 140,000 sq. ft. of event space, a helipad, spa, and suites with private plunge pools. A key focus is on destination weddings and large-scale events, supported by grand ballrooms, landscaped lawns, and a dedicated event pool.
Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles and Fairmont Hotels, described the property as “a tribute to the timeless beauty and cultural richness of Udaipur,” adding that the brand aims to combine international luxury with deep local context.
The project is owned by Somesh Agarwal of Rockwood Hotels. “This is my way of contributing to Udaipur’s tourism legacy,” Agarwal said in a statement.
In addition to targeting high-end wedding and MICE segments, the property also aims to appeal to families, with leisure options including ziplining, mini golf, and a pickleball court.
The Udaipur launch follows Fairmont’s first Indian property in Jaipur and reflects the group’s growing focus on culture-led luxury in key Indian destinations.
