In a groundbreaking move to redefine hospitality education in India, Mahindra University’s School of Hotel Management (SoHM) has partnered with CAST Alimenti, Italy’s leading institute for culinary arts and hospitality.
The collaboration, sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to bring Italian gastronomy and global culinary standards to Indian students. “This partnership blends experiential learning with global exposure, empowering students to lead in the culinary and hospitality sectors,” said Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, Mahindra University.
A highlight of the alliance is a three-month Short-Term Course in Italian Gastronomy and Pastry Arts, delivered by top Italian chefs at Mahindra University in Hyderabad. The program offers hands-on training in authentic Italian techniques and regional specialties.
CAST Alimenti CEO Cristian Cantaluppi emphasized the alliance’s potential to “cultivate professionals with technical expertise and a global perspective.”
SoHM students will also gain international exposure through a pathway program at CAST’s Italy campus. Chef K. Thirugnanasambantham, SoHM Dean, added, “This collaboration aligns with our vision to create next-gen hospitality leaders.”
The partnership marks a new era of cross-cultural education and innovation in culinary arts, strengthening global ties in hospitality academia.
