Paras Dairy (VRS Foods Ltd), one of India’s largest private dairy companies, is expanding its Galacia Cheese brand into western and southern India, marking a significant step towards building a national footprint in the fast-growing cheese segment.
After its strong debut in North India, Galacia Cheese will now be available in key cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The company plans to scale its presence from 500-plus HORECA (hotel, restaurant, and catering) outlets to more than 2,000 by March 2026, backed by the addition of 100 new distributors across these markets. Paras aims to position Galacia among India’s top five cheese brands within the next year.
Produced at Paras Dairy’s modern facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra—with an investment of over ₹100 crore—the Galacia range is crafted from high-quality cow’s milk and processed using advanced Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) technology. This ensures uniformity, prevents lump formation, and maintains freshness, making it ideal for both large-scale commercial kitchens and smaller outlets.
“With Galacia Cheese, our focus is to deliver premium quality at competitive prices while strengthening our presence in West and South India,” said Gajendra Nagar, Joint Managing Director, VRS Foods Ltd. “As one of the largest B2B suppliers and exporters, we are committed to becoming the preferred partner for the HORECA industry in cities with populations above 10 lakh.”
The brand currently offers mozzarella variants and plans to expand into processed cheese blocks, slices, and sauces in a phased rollout. To support adoption, Paras has deployed a dedicated team of sales professionals and chefs to provide training and customer engagement.
“This expansion is a milestone in our journey to build a truly national cheese brand,” said VPS Malik, Chief Marketing Officer, VRS Foods Ltd. “We are addressing diverse culinary needs with specialised variants such as low-melt, high-melt, and analogue cheese, designed for everything from gourmet pizzas to quick-service kitchens.”
Paras Dairy, with a legacy spanning six decades, works with more than 300,000 farmers across 7,000 villages and operates five manufacturing plants in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Its products are exported to over 45 countries, reinforcing its presence as a global ambassador of Indian dairy.
With Galacia Cheese entering new markets, Paras Dairy is betting big on India’s growing appetite for cheese-driven menus in both fine dining and quick-service formats—a trend rapidly reshaping the country’s food and hospitality landscape.
