Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora inaugurated Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels in Mohali, marking a significant addition to the region’s premium hospitality infrastructure. The opening ceremony was attended by industry leaders and officials, including ITC Hotels’ Managing Director Anil Chadha and representatives of the Gujral Group.
Addressing the gathering, Arora highlighted Mohali’s rapid emergence as a major economic and institutional hub, driven by the expansion of IT City, Aerocity, healthcare facilities, universities and convention infrastructure. He noted that the city is witnessing growing domestic and international footfall, creating strong demand for quality hotel rooms.
The minister also reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to supporting hospitality investments through policy support, transparent approvals and ease of doing business, emphasising the sector’s role in generating employment and strengthening the state’s tourism and service economy.
