The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has expressed gratitude to the Delhi Government for its transformative decision to simplify licensing norms for restaurants. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the requirement for the Delhi Police Eating House License has been abolished, marking a milestone in ease of doing business for the capital’s F&B sector.
This reform alleviates administrative burdens, fostering a more supportive environment for over 5 lakh restaurants nationwide, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. The decision is expected to spur investments, drive job creation, and enhance revenue for the state exchequer.
NRAI President Sagar Daryani praised the move, stating, “This forward-thinking decision saves time, reduces complexity, and opens doors for budding entrepreneurs in Delhi’s vibrant F&B sector.”
Sandeep Anand Goyle, NRAI Delhi Chapter Head, echoed the sentiment, adding, “This historic step validates years of advocacy and positions Delhi as a more business-friendly destination.”
The NRAI remains committed to partnering with government bodies to advance policies that support India’s dynamic restaurant industry.
