Chalet Hotels Brings Ritz-Carlton to Hyderabad
Chalet Hotels has approved the launch of its first Ritz-Carlton hotel in India, with a 330-key ultra-luxury property planned in Madhapur, Hyderabad. Cleared by the board on February 23, 2026, the project will mark Chalet’s entry into the top-tier luxury segment and strengthen its footprint in one of its strongest-performing markets.
The hotel will form part of a larger mixed-use complex under a warm-shell lease agreement with Mindspace, and will include approximately 36,255 sq ft of commercial and retail space. Once operational, it will become Chalet’s third property in Hyderabad and its first under the globally recognised Ritz-Carlton flag, part of Marriott International’s portfolio.
Ritz-Carlton Hyderabad Strengthens Ultra-Luxury Portfolio
The development signals Chalet Hotels’ strategic expansion beyond premium and upper-upscale segments into ultra-luxury hospitality. Managing Director and CEO Shwetank Singh described the project as a milestone, highlighting favourable terms secured through Chalet’s longstanding relationship with Marriott International.
With an estimated total project cost of INR 930–940 crore and development expenses projected below INR 3 crore per room, the hotel is expected to follow the growing trend of integrated urban luxury developments in key business districts.
Hyderabad Emerges as a Luxury Hospitality Hub
Hyderabad, particularly Madhapur in the IT corridor, continues to attract strong corporate demand driven by technology and pharmaceutical sectors. The addition of a Ritz-Carlton underscores the city’s rising status as a luxury hospitality destination. Chalet plans to invest approximately INR 630 crore, while Mindspace will contribute around INR 300 crore towards overall development.
Completion is targeted within 36 months, extending into FY2029.
