Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) announced the signing of its first hotel in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. The Greenfield hotel will be branded Vivanta.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL said, “This signing is in line with IHCL’s strategy of strengthening its presence in India’s emerging markets. Rajahmundry is home to large industries and is close to India’s largest off shore gas fields. It is also one of the largest bullion centres in India. We are delighted to partner with Sailaja Hotels and Resorts Pvt Ltd for a Vivanta hotel in the city.”
The 120 keys hotel is strategically situated at a comfortable driving distance from the Rajahmundry International airport as well as the satellite city of Kakinada, an important port. The hotel will have the signature all day diner Mynt, a bar and recreational facilities including swimming pool and fitness centre. It will also offer over 550 sq. mt. of state-of-the-art banqueting space including meeting rooms.

Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh is one of the state’s most important commercial hubs. Known for its floriculture, the city is called the “nursery capital” of India.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have six hotels across Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions and Ginger brands across Andhra Pradesh including two under development.
