In a move set to redefine hospitality education in India, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and A-Star Academy have entered into a landmark academic partnership, creating a new benchmark in industry-integrated learning.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at SPPU’s historic main building by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi and Mr. Romie Dutt, Executive Director of Aamby Valley City and Hotel Sahara Star, and the visionary behind this transformative academic model.
The collaboration will introduce a range of degree, diploma, and certificate programs, starting with a 3-Year B.Sc. in Hospitality Studies. Under the arrangement, SPPU will serve as the awarding body, while A-Star Academy will deliver the programs through immersive, hands-on training.
An initiative of Aamby Valley City and Hotel Sahara Star, A-Star Academy is committed to bridging the gap between conventional curricula and industry demands. Students will be trained in live hospitality environments from day one, ensuring they graduate with both theoretical grounding and operational expertise.
The curriculum, designed and delivered by practicing industry leaders, is tailored to meet global standards and equip students with the skills, leadership qualities, and innovation mindset needed to thrive in a competitive market.
This partnership represents a shared vision—to merge academic excellence with real-world application, creating industry-ready professionals who can shape the future of hospitality.
