Mount Everest Breweries Ltd. (MEBL), part of the Associated Kedia Group, has entered Karnataka with the acquisition of Mysuru-based Cheers Breweries Ltd. This marks the company’s 12th state of operations and its first foray into South India.
The acquisition boosts MEBL’s annual production capacity from 2.0 to 3.5 million hectolitres, a 75% increase, and is expected to generate INR 350–400 crore in incremental revenue by FY28, driving double-digit growth for the next five years. The deal, valued at around INR 300 crore, has been funded through internal accruals and structured debt.
“Karnataka represents the future of India’s beer culture,” said Vedant Kedia, Whole Time Director, MEBL. “With the Mysuru acquisition, we are cementing our South India presence, and Bengaluru’s dynamic consumer base makes it a pivotal hub.”
MEBL will introduce its brands Mount’s 6000, Lemount, and STOK across Karnataka in phases, covering all 71 depots by November. With Bengaluru’s HoReCa sector driving 45% of premium beer sales, pubs and bars will be a key focus.
