ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for a 101-key Welcomhotel in Karai, Gandhinagar, strengthening its presence in Gujarat as the state witnesses rising demand for business, leisure and MICE hospitality.
The upcoming Welcomhotel Karai Gandhinagar will be developed on a nine-acre site and feature guest rooms, suites, an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a coffee lounge, over 10,000 sq. ft. of indoor banquet space and 46,000 sq. ft. of landscaped outdoor lawns for destination weddings, corporate events and large social gatherings.
Anil Chadha said Gujarat’s tourism sector continues to expand on the back of improving infrastructure, enhanced connectivity and increasing demand for cultural, spiritual and leisure travel. He noted that the new property will strengthen ITC Hotels’ network across business travel, leisure tourism and the MICE segment.
The hotel enjoys strategic connectivity between Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, with easy access to Ahmedabad Airport, GIFT City and major commercial and sporting hubs. Karai is emerging as a key hospitality micro-market supported by ongoing infrastructure development and expanding urban growth.
Kamleshkumar Babulal Chauhan said the collaboration with ITC Hotels aims to establish a premium hospitality destination that caters to both leisure travellers and large-format events while contributing to Gujarat’s long-term tourism and economic development.
Scheduled to open later this year, the project reinforces ITC Hotels’ asset-light expansion strategy by targeting high-growth destinations with strong infrastructure development, increasing travel demand and significant long-term investment potential.
