Whisky connoisseurs in India witnessed history as The Glen Grant unveiled its most exclusive expression yet — the 65-Year-Old Splendours Collection — at an intimate showcase in the capital. Distilled in 1958 and matured in a single French oak butt for more than six decades, it stands among the oldest whiskies ever released globally.
With only 151 handcrafted decanters produced worldwide, each priced at €50,000, the expression epitomizes rarity and craftsmanship. India was chosen as the stage for its debut, underscoring the market’s growing appetite for luxury spirits.
Themed “Pour of a Lifetime,” the evening immersed guests in The Glen Grant’s heritage of timeless artistry. The 65-Year-Old’s design draws from the distillery’s Garden of Splendours, featuring a hand-blown Glasstorm decanterresting in a cherry wood Möbius cradle by John Galvin, accented with rose-gold engravings of the rare Himalayan Blue Poppy.
Master Distiller Greig Stables described the whisky as capturing “not just six decades of time, but a lifetime of character.” Its deep mahogany hue opens with aromas of treacle, blackberries, and sandalwood, followed by layers of orange, cherries, rich fruit cake, and spice, finishing with oak and a wisp of smoke.
Shivam Misra, Managing Director, Group Campari India, highlighted India’s rising role in luxury spirits: “Showcasing The Glen Grant 65-Year-Old is a testament to our commitment to premiumization and reflects the growing demand for exclusivity and storytelling in the Indian market.”
The evening affirmed The Glen Grant’s position as a pioneer in luxury single malts — offering Indian enthusiasts a rare encounter with a whisky that truly takes a lifetime to create.
