Spiritual Growth
Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Limited has strengthened its presence in India’s pilgrimage tourism segment with the signing of two newproperties under its Zone Connect by The Park brand in Ayodhya and Ujjain.
The dual signing reflects a focused strategy to expand in high-growth religious destinations, where infrastructure demand is rising alongside increasing visitor volumes. Both properties will operate under the Zone by The Park portfolio, targetingmodern travellers seeking contemporary, design-led stays within culturally significant locations.
Strategic Expansion
The Ayodhya property will feature 56 rooms and is located close to Ram Janmabhoomi, positioning it to cater to the city’s growing influx of pilgrims and tourists. In Ujjain, the 64-room hotel will be situated near the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of India’s most important religious landmarks, further strengthening its appeal within the pilgrimage circuit.
Both developments will include all-day dining, wellness facilities, and social spaces, aligning with ASPHL’s approach of blending functional hospitality with lifestyle elements even in religious destinations.
From a business perspective, the move highlights a broader industry trend where hotel operators are increasingly targeting spiritual tourism hubs as key growth markets. With improved connectivity, infrastructure upgrades, and rising domestic travel, cities like Ayodhya and Ujjain are witnessing a shift from basic accommodation to branded, experience-led hospitality offerings.
For ASPHL, these signings reinforce its asset-light expansion model while deepening its footprint in culturally anchored destinations—an approach that balances demand-driven growth with brand positioning in emerging micro-markets.
