A late-night party at JW Marriott, located on Vittal Mallya Road, landed the hotel in trouble after Cubbon Park police and Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials found it operating past the permitted hours. The hotel in-charge was booked for the violation.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the premises around 2 a.m. on Saturday and found nearly 80 people inside. Attendees were subjected to blood tests over suspected contraband use, though no drugs were recovered.
One 27-year-old man tested positive for drug consumption. Police clarified that further tests are being conducted to rule out false positives due to heavy alcohol intake.
Officials said strict checks will continue to curb such violations, urging citizens to report establishments operating beyond permissible hours.
