Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026. The MoU, signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin, outlines BHVL’s proposed investment of INR1,100 crore to strengthen the state’s tourism and hospitality infrastructure. The investment is expected to generate high-value employment opportunities for over 1,000 people and supports the summit’s objective of attracting global investors and accelerating growth in the tourism, hospitality, and leisure sectors.
Commenting on the development, Vineet Verma, Director, BHVL, said, “This MoU underscores our commitment to bringing world-class hospitality experiences to Chennai and reflects our shared vision with the Government of Tamil Nadu to position the city as a premier destination for global business and leisure travellers. With the addition of over 500 keys across three iconic brands, we are expanding our footprint while contributing meaningfully to economic growth and employment. Our focus remains on setting new benchmarks in hospitality and supporting the government’s efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure and destination development across the state.”
BHVL currently operates Holiday Inn Chennai OMR IT Expressway, its first hotel in the city through its subsidiary SRP Hotel Ventures Limited. The hotel commenced operations in April 2017 and features 202 keys.
Under the new investment plan, BHVL will add over 500 new keys across three upcoming properties in Chennai. Brigade Group has already acquired land parcels for these developments, reinforcing its long-term commitment to creating landmark hospitality destinations in the city.

Courtyard by Marriott at Chennai World Trade Center, featuring approximately 45 well-designed guestrooms and located just 13 km from Chennai International Airport.

Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR, a premium resort offering around 211 guestrooms.

JW Marriott Chennai OMR, comprising approximately 250 elegantly designed guestrooms and suites.
Together, these developments will significantly enhance Chennai’s hospitality landscape and further strengthen its position as a leading tourism and business destination in India.
