Chef Manish Mehrotra, widely regarded as India’s most celebrated culinary innovator, has announced the launch of Manish Mehrotra Culinary Arts (MMCA)—a visionary platform dedicated to reimagining Indian and Asian cuisines for a global stage. Conceived as his most personal project yet, MMCA will deliver immersive dining experiences that weave together memory, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling.
A New Chapter for Indian Food
MMCA has been created to influence the future of India’s culinary landscape by building new restaurant concepts, mentoring emerging chefs, and preserving the country’s culinary wisdom for the next generation. Rooted in research and storytelling, it aims to showcase food that is inventive yet deeply anchored in tradition.
“At its essence, MMCA is about food as narrative—connecting tradition with the world and chefs with their craft,” said Chef Mehrotra. “This is a return to where it all began: flavour, memory, and the pure joy of cooking without boundaries.”
Powered by Visionary Co-Founders
MMCA is co-founded by three distinct voices united by a belief in culture and craft:
-
Chef Manish Mehrotra, acclaimed for reinventing Indian cuisine with intelligence and restraint, now shaping a platform beyond the limitations of a single restaurant.
-
Amit Khanna, investor, art collector, and founder of Amaya Ventures, who noted: “Backing Chef Manish is not about opening restaurants—it’s about giving him the freedom to own his craft and inspire the chefs of tomorrow.”
-
Binny Bansal, Co-founder of Flipkart, who brings entrepreneurial discipline and long-term vision: “MMCA is built with clarity and patience, designed to evolve meaningfully—not chase trends.”
First Expressions of MMCA
The debut restaurant under the MMCA banner will open in New Delhi in late 2025, exploring the themes of grain, fire, and comfort. Designed as a modern reflection of Indian kitchens, it will celebrate soulful flavours, seasonal produce, and understated design.
“This first restaurant is quiet yet purposeful,” said Chef Mehrotra. “It’s Indian food-forward, measured in approach, and defined by integrity.”
In early 2026, MMCA will expand with a bespoke catering arm, carrying Chef Mehrotra’s philosophy from intimate dining tables to weddings, celebrations, and cultural gatherings.
More Than a Meal
At its core, MMCA represents a return to the soul of cooking—to kitchens where food was crafted with honesty, not styled for effect; to cuisine as both memory and method; and to flavours that endure, unhurried and timeless.
