The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has signed an agreement with Juniper Hotels Ltd to develop a five-star hotel in Dwarka Sector 23, marking a significant hospitality infrastructure project aimed at strengthening Delhi’s meetings, events and business tourism ecosystem.
Planned on a 2.5-acre site overlooking the Dwarka Golf Course, the hotel will be developed on a 55-year licence basis and is expected to attract capital investment of over ₹1,000 crore. The project is scheduled to become operational by 2030.
Strategically located near the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, the upcoming Dwarka Sports Complex, and the proposed Diplomatic Enclave, the hotel is expected to cater to business travellers, MICE demand and diplomatic traffic emerging from the rapidly developing Dwarka sub-city.
According to DDA, the project is expected to generate around 800 direct jobs and create significant economic activity during both the construction and operational phases. Over the 55-year licence period, the development is projected to generate more than ₹6,000 crore in revenue.
Under the agreement, Juniper Hotels will be responsible for developing, financing, operating and managing the property. The hotel will feature 200 lettable rooms and will be required to meet five-star classification standards prescribed by the Ministry of Tourism.
The development forms part of DDA’s broader strategy to position Dwarka as an investment and commercial hub. The project is among four special licence-fee developments auctioned by the authority over the past year.
For Delhi’s hospitality sector, the project signals continued investor confidence in the capital’s long-term MICE and business travel potential. With Yashobhoomi emerging as a major convention destination, the addition of a new five-star hotel is expected to enhance room inventory in the micro-market while supporting the area’s transformation into an integrated business, events and hospitality district.
