DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd’s yet-to-be-launched Indian Craft Dry Gin has won a Gold Medal at The Spirits Business Gin Masters 2025, held in London, marking a rare pre-launch international recognition for an Indian gin.
The gin secured Gold in the Super Premium (£21–£35) category at the competition, which is judged through blind tastings. According to organisers, more than 105 entries from over 60 companies were evaluated by an international jury on parameters including aroma, flavour, balance, texture, finish and overall value. Industry data indicates that this is the first time in at least eight years that an Indian gin has won in this price segment at the Gin Masters.
The award places DeVANS’ upcoming gin alongside established global brands at one of the spirits industry’s most closely watched competitions. The recognition comes ahead of the product’s commercial launch in India.
Commenting on the development, Prem Dewan, Chairman and Managing Director, DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd, said the win highlights the growing capabilities of Indian spirits producers on the global stage and reflects the company’s focus on quality-led distillation.
DeVANS Modern Breweries has an established presence in the Indian alco-bev market through its single malt whisky GianChand, Belgian-style wheat beer Six Fields, and Godfather beer. The company said the upcoming gin is produced entirely in India at its own facilities using a combination of selected botanicals and modern distillation techniques.
The pre-launch international recognition adds momentum to India’s expanding craft spirits segment, which has seen increased global attention in recent years. DeVANS’ Indian Craft Dry Gin is expected to be introduced to the domestic market in the coming months.
