Goa’s hospitality sector is witnessing a robust resurgence, with hotel occupancy reaching up to 100% and international arrivals steadily climbing, according to Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte.
Speaking during the Legislative Assembly session, Khaunte dismissed concerns of a slowdown in the tourism economy. “Flights are full, hotels are bustling, and tourist footfall is back at and beyond pre-COVID levels. We Goans can see the growth firsthand,” he stated.
Between January and June 2025, Goa welcomed over 5.7 million tourists, with both Dabolim and Mopa airportsreporting high and sustained traffic. International arrivals crossed 325,000, while domestic tourists exceeded 5.3 million, showing remarkable year-round occupancy levels between 70% and 100%—a clear win for the hospitality ecosystem.
The data, tracked in real time through Goa’s Tourism Information Management Enterprise (TIME) software—mandatory for all registered hotels—underscores the transparency and accuracy of reported trends. “This isn’t anecdotal. These are real numbers from hotel systems across the state,” Khaunte emphasized.
Compared to 2019, Goa has seen a 39.5% rise in domestic tourism and a 50% recovery in international tourism by 2024. New source markets such as Poland, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan are opening fresh opportunities for hotels, resorts, and travel operators.
“Goa’s hospitality sector isn’t just recovering—it’s expanding,” Khaunte noted, reinforcing that the state’s tourism revival is built on digital transparency, international connectivity, and sustained marketing efforts.
With more global travellers arriving and strong domestic demand, Goa’s hospitality industry is poised for continued growth through 2025 and beyond.
