Himmaleh Spirits, the award-winning Indian craft spirits company behind Bandarful, Kumaon & I, and Jin Jiji, has introduced Darma, a premium blended whisky inspired by the remote and lesser-known Darma Valley of Uttarakhand. The launch marks the company’s entry into the fast-growing premium blended whisky segment, catering to India’s evolving whisky consumer.
Darma blends Indian whisky with select Scottish malts and subtle bourbon notes, creating a balanced, easy-drinking profile that reflects contemporary Indian whisky preferences. Drawing inspiration from the mystique of the Himalayan landscape, the whisky reveals layered complexity—opening with toasted aromas, Madagascan vanilla, coconut and dried fruit, followed by a smooth, medium-bodied palate of creamy caramel, gentle spice and a warm, lingering finish.
Commenting on the launch, Ansh Khanna, Co-Founder, Himmaleh Spirits, said that Indian consumers are increasingly seeking authenticity and craftsmanship over labels, adding that Darma has been crafted to align with how modern India drinks whisky today.
Samarth Prasad, Co-Founder, Himmaleh Spirits, noted that Darma is designed to offer warmth, texture and nuance while remaining approachable and versatile for everyday enjoyment.
Bottled at 42.8% ABV, Darma is suited for both sipping and modern whisky cocktails. The packaging features a snow leopard motif symbolising balance and mystery, with design elements inspired by the Himalayan terrain.
Darma will debut in Uttarakhand at a starting price of INR1,580, followed by launches in Goa and Gurugram, with additional markets planned.
