The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI, in collaboration with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), conducted the latest Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) programme on December 17, 2025, at The Byke Business – Delotel, Borivali.
The training programme was attended by 24 hospitality professionals and focused on critical aspects of food safety, including food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and waste management. Conducted by Dr. Pasupathy V., the session offered practical, hands-on insights to help participants strengthen food safety protocols within their establishments and reinforce industry best practices.
FoSTaC is a key FSSAI initiative aimed at developing a robust pool of certified Food Safety Supervisors (FSS) trained in good hygiene and manufacturing practices, in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration) Regulations, 2011. The programme seeks to enhance skilled manpower in the food sector, encourage self-compliance with the FSS Act, and foster a sustained culture of food safety across the country.
To date, HRAWI has trained and certified 3,695 hospitality professionals through FoSTaC and FSSAI’s Management Training Programmes. The association continues to play a proactive role in equipping industry professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to uphold the highest standards of food safety in daily operations.
