HRAWI Hosts Seminar On Life, Property & Environment Safety For Hospitality Industry

The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) recently hosted a seminar titled, ‘Life, Property and Environment Safety for Hospitality Industry’ at The Orchid – An Ecotel Hotel, in Mumbai. The seminar addressed the various aspects of safety at hotels and restaurants; and educated participants on the requisites for effectively implementing measures for the safety for everyone present at hospitality establishments. The event kicked off with a keynote address delivered by the President of HRAWI – Mr Pradeep Shetty, followed by an introductory technical session on ‘Egress for life safety in hotels’ by Mr Hemant Khadse, CEO of East Corp Group.

The event hosted Mr Santosh Warrick, Chief Fire Officer & Fire Advisor of MIDC, Fire Service & Director, Maharashtra Fire Service as the Chief Guest; Mr Gurmit Singh Arora, Chairman, IGBC & MD, Rajco Group as the Guest of Honour and Arch. Anuja Sawant, President, SSA Architects as the Keynote Speaker. Mr Paramjit Singh Ghai, Hon. Treasurer; Mr Gurbir Bedi and Mr Sandeep Talaulicar, Executive Committee Members of the Association were also present during the event.

Mr Santosh Warrick shared insights on the several aspects of fire safety. He emphasized on the need to increase awareness on precautions and preparedness management in case of fire within hospitality premises. Mr Warrick appealed to the participants to inculcate the culture of safety in our everyday lives to mitigate the risks to life, property and environment that could be caused by fire.

The seminar also hosted a panel discussion on Life, Property and Environment Safety for Hospitality Industry. The same was moderated by Mr Hemant Khadse with Mr Sandeep Talaulicar; Mr Prem Thakur, Director, Engg. Services, Taj Hotels; Mr Mihir Sanghvi, National President, RATA and Mr Rupesh Umtol, Electro-Mech Consultants Pvt Ltd as panellists.
