Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Vivanta hotel at Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh. The project will be developed as a greenfield property and marks a strategic addition to IHCL’s growing portfolio in emerging aviation-linked destinations.
Strategic Location to Drive Demand
The upcoming hotel will be located adjacent to the terminal building of Bhogapuram International Airport, positioning it to cater to transit passengers, business travellers, and MICE demand. The airport is expected to emerge as a key aviation hub for North Andhra, supporting economic activity along the Visakhapatnam–Bheemili–Bhogapuram corridor.
According to IHCL, the region’s infrastructure development and government-led tourism initiatives are likely to drive sustained demand for branded hospitality offerings.
Project Details and Offerings
The 165-key hotel will feature multiple food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a deli. The property will also include a swimming pool, fitness centre, and over 4,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, aimed at hosting corporate events and social gatherings.
The development is designed to offer a full-service upscale experience aligned with the brand’s positioning in key business and transit markets.
Expansion in Andhra Pradesh
With this signing, IHCL continues to strengthen its footprint in Andhra Pradesh. The addition of the Bhogapuram property will take the company’s portfolio in the state to nine hotels, including those under development.
The move reflects IHCL’s broader strategy of expanding in high-growth micro-markets, particularly around infrastructure nodes such as airports, which are increasingly driving hospitality demand in India.
