Hotel prices across India surged significantly during the November–December wedding season, rising by 16–40% compared to the normal demand period of July–October 2025. According to a new report by Sciative Solutions, the spike was driven by concentrated muhurat dates, festive weekends and dynamic pricing strategies powered by Agentic AI.
The findings, derived from ZettaRMS—Sciative’s Agentic AI-based hotel pricing platform—show a clear distinction between high-end wedding hotspots and budget-friendly alternatives, with each segment reflecting unique seasonal demand behaviours shaped by cultural patterns, guest preferences and competitive pricing.
Premium wedding destinations such as Mumbai, Goa, Udaipur, Jaipur and Alibaug recorded an average display price of INR 13,933, representing a 16.4% increase over normal months. City-wise trends include:
● Goa – INR 15,299 (+24% vs normal)
● Udaipur – INR 10,757 (+20% vs normal)
● Jaipur – INR 10,078 (+35% vs normal)
● Alibaug – INR 25,459 (–3% vs normal), indicating strategic price stabilisation despite strong demand
Meanwhile, affordable wedding destinations—including Agra, Kochi, Manali, Shimla, Rishikesh, Trivandrum, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey—averaged INR 6,880, reflecting a 16.7% rise from typical off-season levels. Notable trends include:
● Trivandrum – INR 6,720 (+39% vs normal)
● Agra – INR 5,329 (+36% vs normal)
● Kochi – INR 5,953 (–16% vs normal), underscoring its value-driven positioning
● Manali – INR 4,925 (–10% vs normal), signalling increased budget-oriented demand
The report also highlights shifting discounting behaviour. While premium hotels prioritised optimised surge pricing, 2-star properties offered average discounts of 39%, around 12% deeper than usual, in an effort to absorb wedding-season traffic without impacting occupancy.
Two dates emerged as the most volatile pricing periods due to muhurat clustering and holiday alignment:
● 21 November – +90% surge, driven by three consecutive high-demand muhurat days
● 19 December – strong upswing, linked to the Christmas–New Year long weekend
“India’s wedding season is no longer dependent solely on auspicious dates—it is evolving into a structured, insight-led pricing cycle,” said Dr Anshu Jalora, Founder & MD, Sciative Solutions. “With ZettaRMS, hotels can anticipate pressure points before they materialise, using Agentic AI to make confident and profitable pricing decisions without compromising guest satisfaction.”
Ms Vijeta Soni, Co-Founder & CEO, Sciative Solutions, added, “ZettaRMS enables hotels to stay ahead of demand rather than chase it. Instead of reacting to last-minute spikes or resorting to late discounting, hoteliers can course-correct early—maximising occupancy, revenue and accessibility for guests during the most competitive season of the year.”
The 2025 report underscores the growing influence of Agentic AI on India’s festive and wedding-season hospitality landscape, marking a broader shift from reactive adjustments to intelligent revenue planning—optimising every room, rate and booking window to deliver value for both operators and travellers.
