Online travel platform Ixigo has suspended hotel and flight bookings to Turkey, China, and Azerbaijan in light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The announcement was made by Ixigo CEO Aloke Bajpai via a post on social media platform X, where he stated, “Enough is enough! Blood and bookings won’t flow together.”
The move follows similar decisions by other travel platforms like Cox & Kings and Travomint, which have paused new travel offerings to nations perceived as unsupportive of India. Cox & Kings Director Karan Agarwal remarked, “In light of recent developments, we have decided to suspend all travel bookings to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey to uphold principles important to our nation.”
This wave of boycotts comes after Turkey and Azerbaijan condemned India’s Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Turkey labeled the strikes as increasing the risks of “all-out war.”
The tension stems from Pakistan’s retaliatory shelling on Indian border regions, which followed India’s airstrikes on May 7. With growing public sentiment against these nations, Indian travel platforms are aligning their policies to reflect national interests.
