As India’s café culture and QSR market grow rapidly, the main challenge for maintaining quality and scalability lies in the disorganised and risky logistics of perishable ingredients. For procurement teams, chefs, and CFOs, this ‘mid-mile’ is the last area where operational excellence can be achieved. One startup is changing how freshness moves from kitchen to counter. Mansi Mahansaria, Co-founder, and Abhisek Kumar, Chief Product Officer of JustDeliveries, are creating India’s first digital system for perishable logistics. This area has long suffered from fragmentation and inefficiency. By combining AI, IoT, and a kitchen-first approach, JustDeliveries allows cafés, QSRs, hotels, and bakeries to grow steadily while ensuring quality and compliance. In a conversation with Asmita Mukherjee, Mansi and Abhisek talk about their journey, business model, and how smart logistics is becoming the hidden support for India’s fast-growing food industry.
Tell us about your background and your company’s business model.
When one of India’s fastest-growing café chains faced issues delivering fresh bakery items to its outlets, they reached out to JustDeliveries. We recognise that food logistics differs from general delivery; it needs to be timely, temperature-controlled, and hygiene-focused. Any delays or poor handling can lead to lost sales, unhappy customers, and damage to reputation. At JustDeliveries, we understand that while logistics may be out of sight for customers, it forms the foundation of every great food experience. We are changing this area from being chaotic and reactive to organised, clear, and proactive. Abhishek, our Chief Product Officer, leads this initiative. He is an alumnus of ISB and BITS Pilani, and his career covers logistics, FMCG, energy, and fintech. He has worked on digitising networks at TruKKer (MENA) and GoSwift (India) and co-founded a fintech and AI venture. His goal has always been to simplify operational issues using smart technology.
Our platform, powered by IoT and AI, manages a fleet of refrigerated vehicles to create the Operating System for India’s Perishable Mid-Mile. With real-time tracking, AI-driven SLA monitoring, and automated compliance, we guarantee reliable, timely deliveries without requiring brands to own logistics infrastructure. For our partners—cafés, QSRs, hotels, and bakeries—it’s not just about logistics; it’s about delivering confidence every time.

How does JustDeliveries’ MVP specifically address the logistics challenges faced by restaurants, QSRs, and hotels when sourcing perishable ingredients?
Most restaurants and QSRs still depend on a fragmented and manual intra-city distribution system, where orders are tracked on WhatsApp, temperature logs are handwritten, and disagreements over delays or spoilage lead to stock-outs and waste. A leading QSR chain, which is expanding across multiple cities, partnered with JustDeliveries, adopting a kitchen-first model that includes GPS-enabled and AI-controlled temperature monitoring, real-time app visibility, trained drivers, backup vehicles, and a control tower.
This partnership allowed the chain to grow efficiently while ensuring quality. JustDeliveries’ digital platform, equipped with IoT sensors, automated SLA tracking, and dashboards, has made perishable logistics clear, auditable, and reliable for QSRs and restaurants throughout India.
As India’s café culture and QSR sector develop, what role will efficient perishable logistics play in maintaining quality and scaling operations?
For cafés and QSRs, consistency is key to success. A burger in Jaipur should taste the same as one in Bangalore, just as an iced latte in Chennai should match the experience in Delhi. This reliability relies on a strong cold chain that supplies coffee beans, dairy, baked goods, and proteins. Efficient perishable logistics can cut waste by up to 10 percent, boost profits, and ensure timely restocking. A top café chain in Delhi worked with JustDeliveries, using GPS-enabled temperature monitoring, real-time visibility, trained drivers, and a control tower. This collaboration achieved 95 percent on-time deliveries with minimal temperature violations, enabling Blue Tokai to expand while upholding quality and trust.
With India’s café and QSR market set to reach INR 1.5 lakh crore by 2030, perishable logistics will be the hidden support that upholds quality, safeguards brand promises, and drives sustainable growth at scale.
How does JustDeliveries assist hospitality brands in overcoming supply chain fragmentation and improving efficiency?
Fragmentation is the main issue in hospitality supply chains. A procurement team might work with SAP, a vendor may use Tally, and transporters often coordinate through phone calls. JustDeliveries is designed to be API-first and modular, integrating smoothly with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or custom portals without interrupting workflows. Clients typically save between 12 to 18 percent on logistics and waste costs and see a 30 to 40 percent reduction in operational delays from automated billing, reconciliation, and P&L mapping.
Currently, JustDeliveries handles over 3,000 outlet deliveries daily across six cities—including Mumbai, Bangalore, and NCR—serving clients like Blue Tokai, ITC, Swiggy, Devyani International, Baskin-Robbins, Taj Caterers, and more.
For hotel groups and large restaurant chains expanding into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, how does your asset-light model support faster and scalable growth?
Expanding into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities often leads to CAPEX challenges for QSRs and restaurant chains, as building cold rooms, owning fleets, or managing warehouses ties up funds and slows down growth. Our asset-light model eliminates that problem. For example, a fast-growing QSR chain planning to enter smaller cities in India didn’t invest in its own logistics infrastructure; instead, it utilised JustDeliveries’ network. We quickly activated partner fleets and cold storage locations while our AI-powered control tower ensured standard operating procedures were followed consistently, whether in Mumbai, Jaipur, or smaller Tier 3 towns. With our digital onboarding, new outlets could start operations in weeks instead of months, maintaining the same quality and reliability as flagship locations. This is why many leading restaurants and QSRs view JustDeliveries as their national logistics backbone—allowing faster, scalable growth without the significant capital requirements.
What differentiates JustDeliveries from standard cold chain providers in serving the specific needs of chefs, kitchens, and procurement teams?
Most cold chain providers focus on bulk transport from farms to warehouses and are not built for the daily challenges kitchens and procurement teams face. JustDeliveries follows a kitchen-first model, ensuring timely and temperature-controlled deliveries. A Mumbai-based Frankie chain with over 60 outlets benefits from multi-drop runs that improve efficiency and reduce costs. Chef dashboards provide real-time visibility into deliveries. A pan-India bakery chain cut spoilage by 70%, reflecting JustDeliveries’ impact on efficiency, reliability, and quality.
How do you foresee data-driven insights from your platform transforming procurement decisions in hotels and restaurants in the next 3 to 5 years?
Today, procurement in hotels and restaurants largely relies on relationships and reactive methods, depending on vendor trust, historical averages, and manual spreadsheets. With JustDeliveries’ platform, procurement will evolve to become data-driven and predictive. SKU-level insights will enable teams to track waste and temperature compliance for each product. Advanced forecasting will align demand with outlet sales, avoiding both overstocking and stock-outs. Vendor benchmarking will enable comparisons in SLA compliance, temperature adherence, and landing costs, while P&L integration gives executives a city-wise and category-wise view of logistics efficiency.
In the next 3 to 5 years, we expect procurement to transform into a strategic function backed by real-time logistics intelligence, with JustDeliveries acting as the engine that facilitates smarter, quicker, and more profitable decisions.
