Kovilpatti Lakshmi Roller Flour Mills (KLRF) has launched a postal ballot to secure shareholder approval for a major shift in its business portfolio, proposing an entry into the hotel and hospitality sector.
The remote e-voting window will remain open from Nov. 19 to Dec. 18, 2025, with shareholders asked to vote on a special resolution to amend the company’s Memorandum of Association. The proposed change adds a new clause enabling KLRF to operate hotels, restaurants, cafés, event management services, and tourism-related ventures, as well as construct and maintain hospitality assets including resorts and lodging facilities.
The move marks a strategic diversification for the flour miller, which is looking to broaden its revenue base beyond its core milling operations. The board sees hospitality as a potential growth avenue, offering new long-term opportunities.
MUFG Intime India Pvt. Ltd. is facilitating the e-voting process, while M.D. Selvaraj, FCS, has been appointed scrutinizer to oversee the voting.
Ballot results will be declared within two working days of the e-voting close and will be posted on the company’s website and notified to BSE.
