Amaravati is set to strengthen its hospitality infrastructure with the launch of an international-standard hotel project under the Marriott International portfolio. The foundation stone for the upcoming Courtyard by Marriott hotel was laid near the Krishna riverfront in the capital region, marking another milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s tourism and urban development plans.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh and Industries Minister TG Bharath, who inaugurated the project and highlighted its significance for the state’s hospitality and investment ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Minister Kandula Durgesh said the entry of a globally recognised hospitality brand into Amaravati reflects rising investor confidence in the capital city and aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s broader vision of positioning Amaravati as a world-class urban destination.
The upcoming property will feature 175 premium rooms along with business and leisure facilities including a banquet hall, business lounge, swimming pool, and multi-cuisine restaurant. The hotel is expected to cater to corporate travellers, international delegates, investors, and tourists visiting the capital region.
Located opposite the AP CRDA office at Lingayapalem in Thullur mandal of Guntur district, the project is scheduled for completion by December 2028. Industry stakeholders associated with the development include Southern Travels, Globe Civil Projects Limited, and Delta Pure.
Hospitality industry observers believe the addition of an internationally branded hotel will significantly boost Amaravati’s positioning as a destination for business travel, MICE, government events, and investment-led tourism. The development also signals growing momentum in hospitality investments across emerging urban and administrative centres in South India.
