Xinnian is the festival that celebrates the start of a new year according to the traditional Chinese calendar. It’s a celebration marked by good food, red envelopes, and blessings for all. Sayaji Hotel Kolhapur celebrates the ‘Xinnian’ from 12th January to 22nd January 2023. Each Chinese year is associated with an animal sign according to the Chinese zodiac cycle. 2023 is the year of the Rabbit, which is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. Moon Tree Café will be decorated on the Red Theme as the festival’s main colour is red, which is thought to be an auspicious colour for the Lunar New Year, denoting prosperity and energy.
Guests can experience the sumptuous delicacies from the regions of China and can be surrounded by the vibrant culture of the Xinnian. The festive meal will encompass appetizers, salads, mains, cocktails, mocktails & desserts. Chef Tsiring Pembba has curated a special menu which comprises tantalizing appetizers and mains including Tsing Hoi Cottage Cheese, Diced Aromatic Tofu, Fish Hakka Style, Roasted Lamb Chilli Garlic, Tofu & Egg Plant in Hot Bean Sauce, Mei Fun Rice Noodles, Mahlak Kai, Four Season Prawns, and Fire Ball Fish among others. The mains are accompanied by a choice of desserts including Toffee (Apple/ Banana/Lychee), Pancake and Honey Tossed Noodles.
