NRAI Bengaluru to Convene Industry Meet on LPG Crisis and Alternate Fuel Solutions
The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Bengaluru Chapter is set to host a key industry meet on April 13, 2026, at Skydeck by Sherlocks, bringing together stakeholders from across the food and beverage sector to address the ongoing LPG supply crisis and explore alternative fuel solutions.
Industry Dialogue on Supply Challenges
The session aims to create a collaborative platform for restaurateurs, public sector representatives, and solution providers to discuss the operational impact of LPG shortages. The event will open with remarks by Dheeraj Kumar, followed by an industry address from Ananth Narayan, who will outline current challenges, ongoing industry efforts, and broader developments.
Discussions are expected to focus on supply-side constraints, rising operational pressures, and the need for sustainable alternatives to ensure business continuity.
Focus on PNG and Infrastructure Readiness
A dedicated session on piped natural gas (PNG) adoption will be led by representatives from GAIL, addressing infrastructure readiness, implementation challenges, and feasibility for restaurant operations. Representatives from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Indian Oil Corporation will also participate, providing updates on LPG supply and engaging directly with industry stakeholders.
Exploring Alternate Cooking Solutions
The event will also feature a showcase of alternative fuel and cooking technologies, including electric kitchen equipment, coal-based systems, biogas solutions, firewood-based applications, and AI-driven LPG-free kitchen models. The showcase aims to give restaurateurs practical exposure to emerging solutions that can reduce reliance on conventional fuel sources.
Strengthening Industry Resilience
According to Ananth Narayan, the initiative is designed to enable knowledge sharing and support restaurants in navigating the ongoing crisis. With LPG supply disruptions continuing to impact operations, the meet is expected to offer actionable insights on improving fuel efficiency and building operational resilience.
