The Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB) organized an Investors Meet in Chandigarh to attract private investment and accelerate growth in the tourism and hospitality sector through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives.
The event saw participation from senior officials of the PIDB, Departments of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, and Housing and Urban Development, along with developers, investors, and transaction advisors. The discussions focused on promoting sustainable tourism and exploring viable investment opportunities across Punjab’s high-potential destinations.
During the meet, six major PPP projects were showcased to gauge investor interest, including plans for urban ropeways, heritage hotels, tourist complexes, and convention-cum-exhibition centres in key cities such as Amritsar, Sirhind, Ropar, Kapurthala, Mohali, and Ludhiana.
Officials outlined project feasibility, timelines, and statutory clearances while highlighting the benefits of competitive bidding and revenue-sharing models designed to ensure transparency and long-term returns. Participants were invited to share feedback to help fine-tune project structures. The initiative underscores Punjab’s commitment to building an investor-friendly ecosystem and leveraging its cultural and heritage strengths to establish the state as a leading tourism and hospitality hub.
