Sterling Holiday Resorts has announced the opening of Sterling Govardhana Malampuzha, marking the brand’s 11th resort across eight destinations in Kerala. With this launch, Sterling strengthens its leadership in South India’s leisure and experiential travel segment while redefining Malampuzha—traditionally a day-trip destination—into a signature short-stay getaway.
Strategically located at the foothills of the Western Ghats, the new resort connects travellers from Coimbatore, Palakkad, Kochi, and Kozhikode, serving as a bridge between Tamil Nadu, Central Kerala, and the Nilgiris. The property is part of Sterling’s regional expansion strategy aimed at developing “destinations beyond the obvious” by creating high-potential travel nodes across South India.
“Sterling Govardhana Malampuzha isn’t just a new resort — it’s the creation of a new travel node,” said Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO, Sterling Holiday Resorts. “By integrating Malampuzha into our southern grid, we are connecting markets and mindsets, enabling travellers to explore a circuit that links our resorts in Anaikatti, Athirappilly, Guruvayur, and Ooty.”
Set amid lush gardens framed by the Sahyadri hills, Sterling Govardhana offers well-appointed rooms and suites, open lawns, and flexible indoor venues suited for weddings, reunions, and milestone events. The resort’s restaurant, Savoree, highlights regional Kerala specialties such as Paal Konchu Porichathu, Kozhi Erussery, and Paneer Kurumulaku Roast, along with international favourites, all prepared using locally sourced ingredients.
“Malampuzha has always represented Kerala’s natural beauty and community spirit,” added M. Satheesan, representative of Malampuzha Hotel Pvt. Ltd. “Our partnership with Sterling reflects a shared vision of responsible destination development that supports local livelihoods while positioning Malampuzha as a must-visit leisure hub.”
Beyond the resort, guests can explore the Malampuzha Dam, rock gardens, and the valley ropeway, while curated experiences such as cultural evenings, nature trails, and photo walks showcase the region’s charm.
With destinations spanning Athirappilly, Anaikatti, Alleppey, Wayanad, Munnar, Guruvayur, Thekkady, and now Malampuzha, Sterling commands one of Kerala’s largest resort networks. The new opening further enhances its drive-to travel circuit, reinforcing the brand’s What-A Trip campaign and its commitment to curating immersive, community-driven travel experiences across India.
