London will welcome a new boutique luxury address in 2026 with the opening of The Shepherd Mayfair, located in the historic Shepherd Market enclave. The 82-key hotel forms part of the Elegant Hotel Collection and is being designed by Timothy Shepherd, who initiated the project at Buckley Gray Yeoman before advancing it through his practice, Shepherd&.
Spanning 33,600 sq ft across six floors, the freehold property draws inspiration from Mayfair’s eighteenth- and nineteenth-century mansions, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The design weaves storytelling and heritage into its architecture and interiors, referencing local history, notable personalities and the area’s wartime intelligence legacy.
The hotel will feature three dining and bar concepts: Fayre, a modern all-day brasserie inspired by Mayfair’s historic fair; The Lounge, a café-style space transitioning into an evening bar; and Teddy’s, a concealed late-night cocktail bar named after Edward Shepherd, the developer of Shepherd Market.
Guest rooms reflect the building’s townhouse origins with individually configured layouts, refined materials and discreet luxury. Positioned as a gateway between Mayfair and Shepherd Market, The Shepherd Mayfair aims to offer a design-led, experience-driven addition to London’s boutique hospitality landscape.
