Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor, has unveiled aggressive expansion plans in India, with more than 50 new properties currently in the pipeline . Speaking with PTI, Dimitris Manikis (President, EMEA) and Rahool Macarius (Managing Director, Eurasia) confirmed that Wyndham already operates over 70 hotels in India and is fast approaching the 100‑property mark.
While Ramada remains Wyndham’s flagship brand in India, the company is now looking to diversify its portfolio. Manikis revealed plans to introduce additional internationally recognized brands, including potentially launching Super 8, Vienna House, Dolce, and others that cater to both Indian and global travellers.
Wyndham is also advocating for improved tourism infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of better marketing of India, increased direct international flights, and streamlined visa processes to boost inbound visitor numbers.
The expansion will include a strategic alliance with Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to bring La Quinta by Wyndham and Registry Collection Hotels to India, further strengthening Wyndham’s midscale and boutique offerings.
With these moves, Wyndham aims to ride India’s post-pandemic travel rebound and establish itself as one of the country’s leading international hospitality players.
