The Sommet Education Foundation and Les Roches have partnered with UN Tourism to launch the Social Innovation Challenge—a global initiative supporting startups and scaleups that deliver sustainable, inclusive, and green solutions with measurable social impact.
With tourism contributing 10.4% of global GDP and employing 319 million people, the challenge aims to foster innovation at a critical moment for the industry. Solutions are invited across three categories: Community-based Tourism, Inclusivity & Accessibility, and Green Projects.
As education partner, the Sommet Education Foundation will fund scholarships for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue advanced hospitality programs at Les Roches, Marbella. Winners will gain 9–12 months of academic training, mentorship, and exposure to global hospitality leaders.
“Education is the engine of transformation. These scholarships will empower future changemakers to create innovative solutions that redefine tourism,” said Anouck Weiss, EVP & Co-Founder, Sommet Education Foundation.
Carlos Díez de la Lastra, CEO of Les Roches, added: “Tourism can elevate communities when anchored in sustainability and inclusivity. This challenge equips entrepreneurs to make that vision a reality.”
Applications close December 8, 2025, with finalists receiving scholarships, mentorship, investor access, and a chance to pitch at the UN Tourism Demo Day.
