, Redefines Workplace Dining with Tech-Led Model
Bengaluru, August 21, 2025: Elior India, part of France-headquartered Elior Group, has acquired a majority stake in Platos, a cafeteria-tech and food aggregation platform co-founded by Arjun Subramanian and Raj Jain in 2019. The move marks a strategic leap in institutional dining, combining Elior’s global food service expertise with Platos’ digital-first cafeteria management systems.
With operations across India and a presence in seven cities, Platos has evolved from a cafeteria-tech start-up into a platform that connects food brands and caterers with corporate clients, offering choice, flexibility, and transparency in workplace dining. The partnership will enable Elior to scale its institutional food services while integrating tech-driven solutions like pre-ordering, subsidy management, and cafeteria analytics.
“Institutional dining is no longer about food alone—clients want transparency, accountability, and seamless digital experiences,” said Rohit Sawhney, CEO, Elior India. “With Platos, we are creating trusted and engaging dining ecosystems for workplaces across the country.”
Raj Jain, Co-founder of Platos, added: “Partnering with Elior gives us the scale and culinary strength to reimagine cafeteria experiences. Together, we can set new standards for workplace dining that balance taste, technology, and trust.”
By 2026, Elior and Platos expect to serve more than 1.5 lakh meals daily across 150+ establishments in India. The integration will offer corporates a single partner for food preparation, vendor compliance, digital operations, and employee engagement, while employees gain access to a simplified app-based experience with more choice and consistency.
The alliance is also set to drive sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and efficiency enhancements, positioning the combined entity as a frontrunner in the next phase of institutional dining in India.
