HAI Welcomes Government Relief on LPG Supply
The Hotel Association of India (HAI) has welcomed the Government’s efforts to ease pressure on the hospitality sector during the recent challenges related to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) supply.
In an official statement attributed to KB Kachru, who also serves as Chairman – South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group, the association expressed gratitude to the Government for acting swiftly to address the concerns of hotels and restaurants.
The association said the Government’s intervention during the past week has helped ease operational pressure on the hospitality industry during what it described as a delicate phase involving LPG supply.
Government Allocates 20% LPG Supply to Hospitality Sector
HAI welcomed the Government’s decision to allocate 20 percent of the average monthly commercial LPG requirement to hotels and restaurants, effective immediately.
The industry body noted that the move will provide much-needed relief to hospitality businesses that rely heavily on LPG for kitchen operations and food preparation. The allocation is expected to help maintain operational continuity for hotels and restaurants while supply conditions stabilise.
The association said the decision comes at a critical time as the hospitality sector continues to manage supply challenges affecting daily operations.
Tourism Minister’s Support Appreciated
HAI also extended its appreciation to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for supporting the hospitality industry during the situation.
According to the statement, the Tourism Minister personally discussed the issue with Hardeep Singh Puri to explore possible solutions and convey the industry’s concerns.
The association acknowledged the Minister’s proactive engagement in facilitating dialogue between the hospitality sector and the relevant government departments.
Collaborative Approach to Ensure Stable Supply
HAI also welcomed the Government’s commitment to additional supply measures and the continued coordination between the Ministry of Petroleum, the Ministry of Tourism, and industry stakeholders.
The association said that this collaborative approach will help closely monitor the situation and enable authorities to address concerns quickly as they arise.
According to HAI, such coordinated efforts are essential to ensuring stability in LPG supply for the hospitality sector, allowing hotels and restaurants to continue serving guests without disruption.
The Hotel Association of India expressed confidence that continued cooperation between government ministries and industry stakeholders will help ensure an uninterrupted LPG supply for India’s hospitality sector in the coming weeks.
